Pure Innocence

When and where, why and who?
What could I do?
At the time didn't have a clue.
Hind sight tells it's tale.
But yesterday isn't for sale.
And sentiment gets lost in unopened mail.

The time I'd spend to have some back.
To change direction and get on track.
Because tomorrow costs too much.
When you've lost your way and your out of touch.

Summers over without a friend.
Winters coaxing autumns end.
Todays borrowed to the limit without a dime.
To find I'm almost out of words that rhyme.

The essence of this prose, I'm not sure I've cast.
It's not about the present, future or past.
But the purity of heart and soul.
And what ever it would take to feel whole.

About your poem: I like the thought of innocence making us feel whole.. Humm.. No wonder I don't feel complete. I knew i was missing something. Somethings we just can't buy, at all.. Wish i was a kid all over again! I love the way you have this constant rhyme.. seems to go with your persona. I can imagine you in person.. Rhyming your day away.. how sweet.. a great poem.. enjoyed..pd

Finally found one I haven't read and I love it! Did we spend yesterday - I guess that's why it isn't for sale. Each sentence filled with a thought buster to create a great verse. Loved it Robert. :)
