Puppy On My Shoulder
I never knew four and a half pounds could be so heavy
A squirming little bundle of sunshine dynamite
Walking around my neck like it was the derby
My first love weighs in at twenty five pounds of envy
And she is standing on my toes wanting the puppy to drop dead and out of sight!
These distractions keep me busy enough for two jobs with no pay
The energy is good for my spirit right now, pure bliss and youthful exuberance
Hopefully the little messes won't discourage me too much today
The puppy neck massage is good enough to market for a big payday
Doggie play by play today and tomorrow on the info super highway of remembrance
(Snowball has a bloated belly and has wooted five times while I am working on this
poem. (=-(<) yuck!!)
