Notes About The Poem

Pull Me Your Way

Mostly, your love cheered my heart.
There were times it tore it apart.
Since I was young, now that I'm gray,
your love always pulled me your way.

Meeting you was dawn and light,
the ending of a long, long night.
Your beauty and your cheerful laugh,
my positive and generous half?

Your unique intelligence and grace -
will always have a special place.
It's impossible to say how much,
You were the first, my soul, to touch.

Mostly, your love cheered my heart.
There were times it tore it apart.
Since I was young, now that I'm gray,
your love always pulled me your way.

Hello David, Reading your poem this moring I felt it carries such a tender honesty, it feels like a lifelong conversation with love itself. I really admire how you let both the joy and the pain coexist, giving the poem a kind of seasoned wisdom. Excellent! Autumn Blessings, David, Daniel

Hi Daniel, I guess that's life itself, right - joy and pain coexisting? I appreciate your comments!
