Proud Hedgehog
The full basket was tipped when the hedgehog got there.
He looked around, utilized all of his senses and sniffed at the air.
No one was around, so he waited, not wanting to steal.
He truly is honest! The animals said, understanding his deal.
They had put the basket in his path that day
To give him some goodies that might make his children gay.
He would not take charity; he was too proud for that.
They were all relieved when he finally accepted the basket as it sat.
