Protect Me

I have to cherish regrets.

Because they are all I didn’t forget.

When my family left me behind.

They left me with those that are unkind.

Out of the room, they take me.

But anyway, there was nothing out the window to see.

They gather me with all the others.

Who were also dragged away from their mothers.

All I have left is protection.

For which I had to give up affection.
