Protect

Hidden under a facade, to protect those I care about.
Lying to myself, lying to them.
Attempting to protect those, whose trouble is their path, yet I failed, and I should feel guilty.

Yet it was not me, who did such heinous deeds, so guilt shan’t wash over me. But alas, it has, causing me to slip, from comfort, and feeling free. Slipping, from the trust of others. And I deserve all I shall receive, for keeping secrets, that come back to guilt me.
