Promised Hope
O' tis a Hope, so lofty, keeps the soul
More lofty than the natural eye behold
For treasured Hope as this cannot be stole
Whose worth is more than all this world's gold
This precious Hope, an Anchor in the veil
Assurance now enthroned at God's right hand
Tried and true through furnaces of hell
Ascent of Glory, there to ever stand
There intercedes with purest prayer in praise
On behalf of those with hidden grace
Enter in His rest from ancient days
Beholden beauty of the Father's face
This blessed Hope and wondrous Peace of mind
Has ever fixed His eye upon His bride
Though she should lose her Way, her Way shall find
Her Way of Hope shall lead her by His side
Gently, shall scarred hand take hold her own
Reminder of the streams of love He bled
She pregnant with the Seed His love has sown
Her labor pains for joy, the Word He Said
O' tis a Hope, so lofty, keeps the soul
More lofty than the natural eye perceives
For in this Hope fears lost lose their control
Whence the promised Hope our soul believes
