Promise Made
It takes some time for a heart to mend,
but this time, I wonder if it ever will again.
Though, time has passed, I still feel the same,
there's a voice in the wind still calling your name.
For so long now I have tried but it's time I gave up,
my heart is yours, it is you I love.
No matter the pain each memory brings,
you were and are my sweetest of dreams.
In my mind, every dream at night,
it is for you I still reach in the quiet of the night.
Yesterday rages, I have no tomorrow,
No God can take my sorrow.
If only you knew my pain, then you might understand,
I promise to love you always, so on that promise I will stand.
