Promise
PROMISE
I give you heart, to lift us if there's sorrow
to guide us to what God alone can see,
I give you faith, to help us want tomorrow;
to make of life what we'd have life to be,
I give you hope, for times without a reason,
the very hope that brought your love to me;
so we can know that season follows season
and life is but what we make life to be.
I give you love, that never has an ending,
that knows no bounds, this love is all of me,
and love from you is all my apprehending,
that life will be what we make life to be.
I give you me,
yes all of me.
