PRISONER OF YOUR OWN FAME
PRISONER OF YOUR OWN FAME
In gilded cages, you're confined,
A prisoner of praise, a life defined.
The world's adoration, like double-edged swords,
Cuts deep, a weight that's more than words.
A stage set high, yet the heart feels small,
Each whispered secret becomes a public call.
Behind the painted smiles, the tempest brews,
In the prison of passion, it’s the self that you lose.
Your name is whispered, a reverent hush,
A crowd's applause, a constant rush.
But in the silence, you're alone,
A stranger to yourself, unknown.
The world sings your name, yet solitude reigns,
A captive of longing, wrapped tight in your chains.
What once was a dream now grips like a vice,
In the bold strokes of fame, you pay the price.
The mask you wear is a disguise so fine,
Conceals the truth, a heart that's mine.
The fame you crave, a fleeting high,
Leaves you empty, wondering why.
Oh, prisoner of your own fame,
Do you recall the life you claim?
Before the world carved out your name,
Before you played its hollow game.
You're trapped in a world of your own design,
A prisoner of fame, a luxurious life not divine.
Break free from the audacious chains that bind,
Find yourself, leave the framing fame behind.
