Prince Charming
I've never been lucky or in love
But the chips are gonna fall
The right way at least once
I'm still waiting for mine
Not rolling the dice this time, so I
Made a wish at 12:12 on a lost dime
They say you have such charm for your age
I rather, the type of luck that finds a few bucks
Then scratches off all the prepaid plans for my life
Dad is always controlling my life
When if he truly cared he'd nurture to who I am
Knowing to build me is to water the legacy
But sometimes people can't see past yesterday
For example, since I can’t find a partner fast enough
My dad is planning this grand ball Where I am supposed to find my forever right?
But these days forever looks like a coffin
Not eternal life
So I'm not looking forward to the event to say the least
Plus my style subscribes to the unique
Not pledging to this royal chique
Only thing permanent on me
Is my salvation, but I digress
Dad yelling it's time to get dressed
As if I want to impress
Any of the women he gave our address
To spite him I wore my ones
I mean we are looking for the one right?
Pants matching the off white
Because the theme is egg shell
Tonight I pulled out the turtle bow tie
I'm breaking out this cell
DND so they can't get under my cells
Nerves been shot
After I'm introduced I'll walk around
To make sure I'm extra seen
Then make my exit like a deleted scene
But I don’t do anything halfway
So I cropped my shirt, ditched the jacket
Kept the suspenders but only wearing them halfway
As I was introduced my Dads face
Looked halfway to hell
The night was already a success
Then I saw her in that dress
Sky blue
Flowing off her like sunrays
Directing my emotions to her
Passing everyone else to see her
She's the type of beautiful the room notices
I'm not much for a close sway
Because for me it's more than intimacy
It's a physical connection I don't want to share
But before I could even process
My words spilled: may I have this dance
And we danced like
The waves kissing the sand
Holding each other like a poet and the pen
We danced like
We were holding love in the middle
I'm selfish only you could fit in the middle
Of my world, in my head singing my girl
Speakers blasting ALL MINE
With one hand around your waist
The other guiding your chin closer to my face
She smiled then looked back down
Letting her head hug my shoulder
The clock is making our heat colder
She asked the time and I told her
12 seconds past 12
Make a wish
Then she dipped so fast
She ran out of one of her uggs
It had a glass charm dangling
Before she got too far
I asked for her name
p.s. she said it's Cinderella…
