Pretend Reflection
Who are you?
The person in the mirror,
I’ve seen your face before,
But that’s not me,
Your smile,
Is too confident,
If you are me,
Then where’s the evidence,
Because my heart,
Is made of stone,
If you are me,
Then you should have,
The tears I shed,
But there’s more to that,
Because I feel alone,
And there’s someone there,
But I haven’t found them yet,
I should,
Make my own face,
Because what I see,
Is really not me,
I have the sad,
Shade but it was masked,
From my face,
Before I met my real friends,
I stand,
Where the thoughts and feelings,
Of others hit,
The corner of my mind,
And all I see,
Is my pretend reflection,
Acting out,
Who I pretend to be,
I should,
Step out and be strong,
But someone weighs me down,
But also breaks,
My heart of stone,
And replaces it with love alone,
But I don’t know who it is,
I don’t belong,
With the others,
I repel,
All the good things,
That should happen to me,
I should,
Make my own face,
Because what I see,
Is really not me,
I have the sad,
Shade but it was masked,
From my face,
Before I met my real friends,
I stand,
Where the thoughts and feelings,
Of others hit,
The corner of my mind,
And all I see,
Is my pretend reflection,
Acting out,
Who I pretend to be,
I am who I am,
Nobody can change that,
So goodbye reflection,
I am now me.
