Press On To Win Your Spiritual Prize - Philippians 3: 12-14

Be humble in your personality
knowing the prize set before you
humanly speaking it seems impossible
but God is calling what you are to do

Perfection can't be found in this life
so make no claim to have done so
but make it your constant aim
that godly traits to consistently show

The Apostle here speaks plainly
that Christ Jesus held him true
to follow His master all the way
so that's exactly what he will do

He also reminds us of our race
that we must press on to win the prize
this prize is reserved in heaven
only for those who overcome to rise

This constantly reminds me of God's will
never to lose sight of the true reason
God has called me to live out on earth
to be faithful to Jesus in every season

(I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things, or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race, and receive the heavenly prize, for which, God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us,)
