preserving the herd

     crack of winter ice
  hoofsteps halt hearing the warn
     river takes a breath

Oh, I can hear the crack of ice and breaths of the river through this profound winter haiku, so gorgeously knitted with exquisite imagery in such a way that a picturesque scene comes alive in the readers mind.. That alliteration in the second line is so wonderful.. Loved reading this, dear :)
