Preserve Your Friends

I hear the thunder of distant hooves, beating the dry earth. Equine spirits caught and trained, to work with humans. Some entertain, some labor; others become our closest friends. Note: I'm disturbed at the rate of destruction of your wild horses in America. These beautiful and loving beings love and serve humanity and it seems their reward is to be slaughtered by the system; an unfair trade off for horses generosity. We must do all that we can to preserve them, rather than destroy them.

I love horses. I frequently find myself enraged by horse racing, whipping the horses. This poem is beautiful and reads quite well. Good work.

These noble creatures have carried Man on their back throughout history. The least Man can do is to treat with respect and love the noblest of the creatures! Excellent poem and message dearest M.L.Kiser!

Great Poem, M.L.: Someday many animals will be extinct or endangered. The horse epitomizes out history determination.

They already are; the bush presidency removed most protection for them and this one is intent on removing all of the rest. Glad you stopped by to read and comment.

A great compassionate poem in brevity, that motivates to protect the horses. Ahh so heartrending to hear that even horses are being slaughtered ah. Thumbs up for raising awareness n feelings for them. I love horses. Pls do write your thoughts under my latest poem too.
