Present Under the Tree

The candle's burning peacefully
As I wait for the Christmas day
The presents underneath the tree
What would I find inside, I can't say!

The bells' dings-dongs
Set me off downstairs
The presents underneath the tree
At the moment, it's all I cared

I could see the hanging ornaments
As I walked closer to the colorful boxes
A present underneath the tree
Was what I picked up, eyes filled with glee

As I slowly peeled off the wrapping
Expressions filled with excitement
The presents under the tree
Are finally my contentment
