Preparing For Eternal Victory

This world is a wilderness
so dark and desolate
with poverty death and uncertainty
running Christless to it's judgement date

This world promises so much
castles and groves and music sweet
charms dissolves the vision dies
waking to delusion's cheat

Let us escape this world
so to enjoy peace of soul
this be done by trust in God
absolute surrender our goal

So cast our burdens on Him
living under shadow of His wing
believing powerfully on the Lord
staying close to our heavenly King

I really enjoyed reading this. Newton has been an inspiration for many poets/poems through the years.... This is well done.... I have posted many spiritually inspired poems... I think you'll find some you will enjoy..... Jake
