Pregnant Part 1
Belly, stretching skin to limits
Getting heavier every day
Scan says just three months to go now
Can’t go quick enough I say
What a miracle each new life is
Passing genes down through each age
Will the hair be dark and curly
Or straight and blonde that’s all the rage
I don’t care about hair colour
So long as baby is fit and well
Would be nice if we could make them
So their bottoms do not smell
Can’t get comfy on my left side
Feels awkward lying on my right
Back it is then, for a minute
Here come another restless night
Toss and turn until the morning
Splashes sun light on tired eyes
That have slept for just two hours
That now comes as no surprise
Every night my sleep gets shorter
As my baby grows and grows
Feels like I have got twins in there
But the scan one baby shows
Hubby is fed up with my cravings
Eating him from house and home
Ate some plain crisps dipped in yoghurt
How can you eat that I hear him moan
I could eat a plate of liver
Covered well with strawberry jam
Hubby thinks I’m going crazy
You know I sometimes think I am
High today and low tomorrow
As hormones with my body play
I just can’t wait to hold my baby
Must get the nursery done today
Bag is packed and at the ready
We even did a dummy run
To the hospital that is closest
Getting lost would be no fun
