Precious One

My Dear Precious One the time has come for us to say goodbye.
It will be the last time I see you smile and the last time you see me cry.
Goodbyes are often taken lightly, to most a mere gesture of speech.
But this goodbye is forever, in the same place we shall never met.

I am setting you free my Precious One, In a cage you should not be kept.
Even though Ive grown quite attached to you it would be better if you left.
So spread your wings my Precious One and do not look behind.
For there is nothing more I can give you so please don’t waste your time.

My Dear Precious One do not look at me that way.
I know you are hurting but you will hurt more if you stay.
Remain strong my Precious One and try to endure the pain.
It may seem unrelenting now but in time it will fade.

You say I’ll alway be in your heart but soon you won’t remember my name.
I know this may saddened you but believe me it’s better this way.
Forget about past, forget about the promises we made.
Let your feelings die, please my Precious One, bury me in the grave.


My Dear Precious one Im afraid I can no longer stay.
I will not fear for you, for I know you are strong and brave.
Perhaps somewhere in your mind my memories will still remain.
Run free now my Precious One your heart is no longer chained.
