Precious Jewels
My favourite piece of jewellery, I wouldn't have to double check,
You see my most precious jewels, used to wrap around my neck.
These are the arms of my boys, when they were young and small,
I don't wear them anymore, because they've grown so tall.
They loved to cuddle with me, now all I get is a hug,
When they're finished, they just smile at me, then walk away and shrug.
I miss the days, when they would sit upon my lap,
And how I would read to them, before they took a nap.
They're both extremely wonderful and growing into fine young men,
If I could have my time over, I'd do it all over again.
They're loving, kind and caring, I'm proud to be their Mum,
Whenever I look at them, my heartstrings sure do hum.
My neck feels bare at times, but my life is whole,
Because I have my sons, who are my heart and soul.
For My Sons, Alec and Daniel
