Notes About The Poem

Prayer and Praise - 1

I give Him my heart, my soul and my thoughts
All of my worries, doubts and fears
I give Him all even though I’m tied up in knots
Longing for a second chance to begin

I give Him my light, my laughter, my love
All of my joy and all of my warmth
I give Him the kindness brought from above
To give to others – assurance of hope

I give Him my questions, my yearnings and tears
All of the reasons I can’t find my way
I give Him my dreams, my fantasies and cares
Speaking to Him of feelings I can’t let go of

I give Him my nature, my thoughts and belief
All the thoughts that seem to haunt me
I give Him my troubles, my sorrows and grief
The dread that reveals my deepest phobia

I give Him my mornings, my noon and my night
All of my feelings that inspire me to try
I give Him my moments filled with so much insight
	Welcoming me to give generously

I give Him my whispers of imagination and truth
All the happiness that protects my spirit
I give Him my breath of harmony from my youth
The dance of wonder that mends my aches

I give Him my reflections of all the mercy and grace
All the supplications that have been answered
I give Him my life so that my sins he can erase
Giving me a new enthusiasm for prayer and praise

i told my husband yesterday, I have not been reading my old favorite poets of late because I have such joy in unwrapping these freshly written ones. He knows your name now Regina, your poems are so delightful, filled with a fragrance of anointing oil and hope. This is yet another gem of beauty. God has so richly blessed your overflowing cup of living water. I love this poem!
