Pray Without Ceasing - 1 Thessalonians 5: 17
This is an amazing exhortation
that comes from the apostle Paul
as it shows the importance to pray
and keep our eyes on the ball
Nothing can really be achieved
without being always in prayer
indeed it's the believers vital breath
for God knows without it life's bare
Why do so many believers not pray?
it's a contradiction if we believe
I mean really pray not just for an hour
for our inactivity makes God grieve
In our list of what's important in life
how high is prayer? God asks the question
do we think we'll vget through just by a little
don't kid ourselves only God sends direction
Pray without ceasing by the holy spirit
without God's spirit it can't be done
be on our knees often and plenty
plead for merciful grace from God's son
A saint of old once did say
what you are on your knees before God
that's all you are and no more
sobering words indeed, help us Lord!

(I have written this with a deep conviction we need to be praying as God's church more than we are, I am not saying we do nothing else but spend all our lives praying as that's not practical but it should be the essence of our lives to be praying daily and often and if we were we may have more productive lives.)
