Pray

When you’re really frightened,
And your backs against the wall,
Who do you turn to,
Why, no-one at all.

There’s no-one left that cares,
There’s no-one left to try,
There’s no-one left to hug you,
As you sit and cry.

The older you get,
The worse is the gig,
Especially if Childless,
The real world’s a pig.

They bay for blood
When you have no life,
There is no protection,
Unless you’re a wife.

So tread very carefully,
And listen to me,
Then safe in God’s bosom
You always will be.
