You don't have an ego problem. Jealousy is a terrible burden to bear for those who strike out at talented poets. Sincere comments are welcome. I also feel that if I give a comment, I'd at least like recognition that it's been read. It's rude to ignore those who take time to leave their thoughts. Worse yet for a poet to pick and choose which get a reply. It's like saying, "You're not important." I try to reply to all, but invariably I miss some...especially in this last month when I was away.

Jenna, I couldn't agree with you more. I try to respond to every comment I receive, because I think it is the polite thing to do. I am upset when I see that I have missed saying something in reply, because we all do occasionally miss a comment. I also like the conversation and the friendship that replies engender. Everyone is important to me, and I am so happy to see that you have the same point of view on this. Thanks.

Milt, you stated it perfectly: heritage, upbringing, and artistic talent are all unique. Therefore I believe that supporting and giving good thoughts is always valuable.

Ah, it is, Lasaad. I appreciate everyone who reads and comments on my poems, and I know you do, too. That's part of what Poetry Soup is about, "supporting and giving good thoughts."

That is so true, Tom, and I wish it were always so; however, occasionally, when you have someone who is intentionally hurtful, it is hard not to explode or vent. I am guilty; I admit it, but it is certainly not my favorite thing to do. I'd much rather spend my time uplifting others.

I think they are, Delice. Poets are always proud of their creations, and they want affirmation. Best to give it, period.
