Portrait of An Envirophile
Measure you may the enviro-crusader’s carbon footprint
As he globe-trots piling credits on his obese carbon profile.
Never mind, in exotic locations on eco-holiday does he relax,
Ready is he to depocket valuable dollars as carbon tax.
Lavishly he spends lucres to go green,
To erect sustainable habitat.
Is it all as it’s trendy? -You must have a bad spleen.
He rides Zero Emission Vehicle,
The grateful Department of Environment laurelled him
With an Environmental Identification Number (EIN).
In the superstore, he flaxes his financial muscle to go organic,
Practises his throw-away culture by biodegradables.
On Earth Hour, he delves deep into darkness abysmal;
On top of that he observes a Personal Earth Hour on his own.
Is it all to emerge as an Environmentally Important Person (EIP)?
This Messiah of the environment,
The EIP with an EIN,
Clamour the cynics, commits ecocide by alluring a locust of media men
Millions of tons of papers he devours
Newspapers blossom with his green-practice
And buzz tv channels and glow the cyberdom with his green-image.
The green-guru thus releases more carbon to the atmosphere
Outsmarting the global per capita carbon emission.
