Portrait of a Thousand Hearts

I’ve been playing it safe for way too long
Leaving pieces of you behind
The sound of rain
Falling in my head

She put midnight beneath my fallen stars
She was everything I couldn’t be apart of
I didn’t sleep last night
Your message was all I thought of

Must I break a thousand hearts to find you

I want it to be everything
That wont bring you a hard time
Afraid to enjoy my time with you
We both know it has to end

She said I’m not promised tomorrow
But I’m not sure I want to give it up
The more I comforted her
The more I felt she needed me

Must I break a thousand hearts to find you

People who see balanced
Find it hard to look away from life
She doesn’t like it when she cries
But at least she still feels

Must I break a thousand hearts
Just to find you
Must I break a thousand hearts
Just to find you

It's always sad when someone has to be hurt if a relationship does not prove mutually rewarding. Perhaps your heart has been broken too, so you can relate to how she feels. She will come around and thank you for not leading her on when she finds her true match. Love, Carolyn

I like the punch line friend... I have broken many hearts, and still do in search for my pear... Excellent.......:JP)
