Poor Planet Earth
Poor Planet Earth
By Stanley R Harris
The new mad Author
& A Poetry Soup honourably mentioned poet
Is the world, disintegrating? Is it hitting back at us?
Is it at last protesting? Is it, making now a fuss?
Earthquakes say it’s splitting. Volcanoes it’s blowing its top.
I wonder, from where I’m sitting. When will with this protest stop?
Some countries have too much rain. Some have not a lot.
Some are frozen with deep snow. Some are far too hot.
Mankind is draining Earth dry. Of all its riches say do I.
Oil and coal, diamonds and iron ore. They protect us from Earth’s molten core.
Mankind seems so destructive to me. Blowing up Earth so violently!
Drilling holes in land and sea! No wonder Earth hits back you see.
So come on all you humans out there. Use your brain cells, I do declare.
Stop all of Earth’s destruction so. It can last longer, sorry, I must now go.
