Poor man's Christmas

This is a belated Christmas poem Poor man's Christmas They lived so long in poverty and couldn't even afford a Christmas tree . Their Christmas would start the following day when xmas trees were thrown away He searched the garbages for garland and bows and xmas wrap - anything that he could carry back . He found old xmas toys that were thrown away it was something for his kids to play . He had worked every job that he could find and even washed dishes at the five and dime . He washed cars shoveled snow , these are the things that he did know . With every bit of pay he would put something away saving for that xmas day . He saved enough money to buy coats for his wife and two girls for they was his entire world . He took home everything that he had found and laid it on the ground He stood up the tree in a corner space and decorated it with the garland and lace . Gift wrapping the presents and putting them around the tree , so it would be the first thing that they would see . They awoke with surprise in their eyes as they all began to cry . They were poor but very blessed for they had passed life's biggest test . " Loving one another " (C) poetlou 031125
