Pondering

Friends are few
Family is too

The phones aren’t ringing
But the birds are singing

I’m going back to college
And get my PhD

School is a good alternative
To show that you’re a wiz

When it’s really all about biz

I’ll parlay this knowledge
Into dollars

The Lord is my Shepard
I shall not want

Says my Heavenly Father

In my quietness
I find self

When
There’s
No
One
Else

Solitude
Is good for the soul

Undiscovered feelings
Unfold

Hi, Lara, I agree, to ponder is good. I especially enjoyed your last line about discovering feelings and how they unfold. We all need solitude at times, especially poets!

Hi Kevin, thanks for reading my poem and the kind words. My mind was fluctuating about this and that and I just had to quiet my mind and focus on beautiful, kind, lovely, thoughts. May God continue to bless you.
