Pomposity

Pomposity

Arrogance and ego are hazards that lead us astray.
Jealousy will tarnish your blessings when allowed to stay.
Center your pain, adapt and overcome for relief.
Passing judgement is deplorable, that’s just my belief.

A smug puritan will point their finger and berate.
We should never blame others for the reality we create.
Discretion is for all, understand and learn.
When frolicking in the flame, beware of the burn.

We can write whatever we choose, ramifications abound.
Sanctions, however, can be bequeathed when blasphemy is found.
Some will praise God, seeking attention for their glass shelves.
Unfortunately, the self-righteous just seek praise for themselves.

I think every poet on this site has talent with their words that glisten.
Insults and palsied stones are understood by many, just read and listen.
Embitterment will ensue when foul scents become thick.
Karma can strike with a vengeance, it’s time to put down the stick.

Hello Mark ... after reading the comments, it appears that whoever the critic is, she is not adhering to the guidelines of poetrysoup. Perhaps her comments are about herself - thanks again Mark - Lindsay

That is a interesting way of putting it all of her insulting comments could easily be used to describe herself

Mark, well-said, my friend. It's time she lays down her stick, gets off of her high horse, and does a sincere apology. Her recent comments are absolutely insulting and uncalled for. Frankly, I've had it with this woman!

If they boot you it would only be for a couple of days the first time. It’s no big deal. You just keep sending admin emails until they reinstate you. I’ve been booted 4 or 5 times. Stand your ground, we’ve got your back. Just let me know what poems she makes the comments on.

I suppose you have read her diatribe under my comment to Andrea's winning poem on Human Rights. I'm also a bit put out by those who agree with her and encourage her!

Mark, I try my best to be complimentary, kind, and caring to everyone on this site, but I have indicated very clearly where her comment (under my comment) can be read. Everyone who checks it out will know who she is. My next step is to start using her name, even if I get "kicked" off of this site; and, in that case, I want my money refunded. Admin rewards her with POTD for her rubbish, and I am thoroughly disgusted. I have reported her to them twice and nothing is done!!!

Thanks Milton! She has bitten off more than she can chew! You can’t disrespect people like that and not expect some sort of consequence. I will be the last one off the field, guaranteed.

Ya know, for someone who says she's 'blessed,' and insists she tells it like it is...she's not being honest at all.

For someone who likes playing the self righteous card, she needs to know who is always watching her.

Well said Mark, I'm totally fed up of the 'little digs' a certain poet is making in their comments. I will continue to write poop and hopefully will be climbing up the poetry community ladder when my muse and energy return:-) hugs Jan xx

Those digs now seem to blanket all poets here. I hope your muse returns quickly my friend
