Poisonous But Beautiful

Don't touch, or go near
For a horrible itchy rash will appear.
Yet, I can only stare
At this breath taking scene.
Poison Ivy beautifully green
Has shot out purple suction cups
So it can crawl up
Nice and tall
To cover my gray brick wall.
Of course this poison Ivy plant
Gives us a wonderful color change
In a fantastic color range.
It shows us a magnificent orange
And a brilliant red
Before it goes to sleep in winter
Waking up again in the spring.
This gives us another slant
On how to enjoy nature's
Pleasures
Before everything
Looks dreary and dead.

Personally, I am not affected by poison ivy but then again I wouldn't go rolling around in it either. It is a beautiful plant as is nightshade and belladonna. This is a lovely poem, Mrs bette:)
