Poisoning the Well

Beware the breath
of dragons bane
Heed to the call of inspiration
slowly does the mind fade
during cupid's aching

Take toll of you eggs
before you cook your bacon
slowly does the heart deflate
during cupid's aching

Frown upon the innocence
and those who take it
Smile upon the perfection
and all who demonstrate it
Slowly does the heart die
during cupid's aching.

Break open
every empty lie
the truth is not forsaken.
Whenever you may close your eyes
Know you were mistaken.
