Poisoned Despair

There’s a poison in my veins
At the core of my dead heart
So deep inside my shame
Beneath the canvas of my art

I feel it becoming me
I hold it from my eyes
But it’s soon to be all I’ll see
As my feelings start to die

I concentrate so much
I’m in constant vigilance
There’s nothing left I let it touch
But I’m starting to fear my ignorance

There’s a whisper in my mind
To make the whole world pay
Afraid what my anger finds
I bury everything it says

Confusing my riddled soul
With poisons and betrayals
My words become a growing hole
Where every light begins to fail

Condemned before I could speak
Poisoned before I took a breath
Alone and staying weak
Still praying for happy death
