Poisoned By Love's Alchohol

There is a connective link
With a "dirty" martini drink
Leaving you "wet" with desire
It's effects can take you higher
As it enters in your system
Sometimes it can you dumb
Like your love did one day to me
But it was not a good dirty
That I felt-the only wet
Were the tears that fell and let
My heart shrivel up to die
Now it is completely "dry"
And in a "pit" of despair
And you do not even care
That I'm hung over for good
Wishing that I never would
Have gotten so intoxicated
I was stupid and not waited
To make sure I was not poisoned
But my heart just had to join in
Tugging and pulling at me
Destroyed by a love martini

Being drunk on love is a much better idea than being intoxicated on $8 wine. Enjoy the better of the two. Love the metaphor.
