Poignant Gaze
Dewy grass bed
Wait for sunrise;
Kissing goodbye
Sparrow choir
Sings chirpy psalm;
Unrehearsed splendour
Joy of morning
Aura of magic;
Blessing the earth
By winding footpaths
Butterflies flutter;
Flower promenade
July wears colours
Sparkling and grand;
Hot sun teasing
My window view
Tells a fragrant tale;
Eyes soak the sights
Joy wears a gaze
Radiant with zest;
Smiles sparkle
Take a quick stroll
Greet sleepy neighbour;
Breakfast takeaway pack
Time looms large
With calm retirement;
So much undone
Day time dreaming
Impose new feelings;
Doing nothing
Excursion to nowhere
Time is no luxury;
We got a lot
My darling and I
In poignant gaze;
Years now a maze!
Self-talk heals
All sorts of unease;
Keep focus positive
Old age intrudes
Upon the present;
Punctures young moods
Pursuit of happy
In insane world;
So much suffering
I remind me:
Live just one day;
One day at a time
