Poet's Angst

Fear not that critique whittles my will, Fear that lack of such may wilt my quill. Fear not a lonely path in the dark, Fear my pyro craft runs out of spark. Fear not golden age’s silent byplay, Fear that wondering mind goes astray. Fear not that I find I don't belong, Fear I won't find lyrics to my song. March 13, 2023

The challenges that present themselves to us poets! Especially we who are older. A creative way to express a poet's struggle, almost as a metaphor for our life's struggles as well. Nicely done.

Thank you! I wasn’t a poet when I was younger, was too busy except for fun rhymes in the far past. Perhaps those evolved:)

I like the way you juxtaposed 'Fear not' and 'Fear.' And you nailed 'what to fear' every time. Smiles, Gershon

Seems to me, Margarita, that your "quill" is in pretty good shape.

From what I've read of your writings, I don't think you need to start worrying anytime soon, Maggie. I enjoyed reading about your writing fears. Hoping you are well.
