Poets and Friends

When I look to the East, I feel peace in my chest
As I watch the Sun rise, I’ll be sure to give it my best
I watch this miracle as it climbs in the sky
How long will it burn, will it ever die?

I feel tired and sore as I gaze to the west
Another beautiful sunset, now it’s time to rest
This hard day of work is now under my belt
I’m thankful for life and the love that I’ve felt

Far to the North are my Canadian friends
Eighty miles from home is where our border ends
Deep down in the south not far from the coast
There’s a poet we miss so I now make this toast

Here’s to the North, the south, east and west
I am surround by friends that always give their best
I feel blessed and thankful for the ink in our pens
I thank God everyday for my poetical friends
