Poets All
You are a poet of his majesties high court
I am a poet of the cobblestone street
You write sonnets with cadence pure
I write rhymes with tempos unsure
Your words honor the King's men in war
My words honor the downtrodden and poor
Your poems are bound in books with silken covers
While my writings sometimes fade like fallen lovers
Poets we both are as we write by twinkling candle light
Seeking words to inspire and bring hope throughout the dark night
But alas we shall never meet as we live in far different worlds
But we share a bond that is found in a poems loveliest of pearls
For the words that we cast reach deep into other's minds
And the visions created are indelibly imprinted there for all time
