Poetry to me
Is not an exhibition of erudition,
Nor a demonstration of tradition,
But a chance to play;
With words and phrases in a way,
That gives their sum a greater meaning,
Than they alone might be seeming,
And offers the reader a fresher view,
Of something that they thought they knew.
