Poetry of My Soul
My soul lives for poetry, even in my sleep,
Poetry is one of the best things in my life I will keep.
My soul is my partner, my spirit and my heart,
It inspires me to write even when my heart is broke apart.
I often wake in the middle of the night,
To scribble a thought of a sudden insight.
Shattered feelings or tears of joy will ignite a flame,
To pen the joy of a rhyming word game.
Or perhaps a couplet, free verse or haiku,
It does not matter which type of poetry I ensue.
For it only matters that I write to express,
What my soul, my heart will not suppress.
