I originally published this in my '2022 Marathon Mile 6 Closed and Being Judged' blog post on 7/8/2022.

I have included my Marathon-themed poetry in my Poetry Marathon blog posts since 2019, usually at the end of the blog posts, but I never posted them to my poetry page. So now I'm taking the time to post them to my poetry page.

Poetry Marathon Blues

I post poems in the race
and it doesn't seem to matter
none of mine have placed
feeling bad and getting sadder
but I will keep on running
my resolve will not diminish
I'm a poet marathoner
whose number one rule is to FINISH!

I guess that's one way to look at it. This is fun to read, Mark. Thanks for my recent marathon win. It's kind of nerve wracking for me this marathon is!

I never thought to come here and tell you how much I enjoy your inspirational snippet poems. My oversight. They really do inspire me to keep on keeping on, even when I've worked up a sweat trying to determine what to enter and my brain just wants to lay down, exhausted from the effort it takes to determine what to submit. (it has its own small cot and water bottle)
