Poetry Is History

I've come to find poetry to be a bore. I doubt that I'll read or write it anymore. These meaningless words will all be lost through out future ages as paper crumbles and disappears to all the turned pages. No more will there be the likes of Poe or Shakespeare. All the great literates of time will all one day disappear.

I must have been sleep walking when I wrote this. No recollection at all. Although the above does hold true for the Big Picture, but then we as a specie won't even exist so it won't matter anyway.

Remember, Bill, that Emily Dickinson's work wasn't even discovered until after she died. And both Poe and Shakespeare have endured a long time. If there's an apocalyptic book burning, then maybe their works will disappear. But I don't expect that to happen. Are you in a curmudgeon mood today? Love, Carolyn
