Poetic Testimony

I went thru life so ashamed I went thru life going insane I hope my child can break the chain If not I have but myself to blame He said kissing and touching was innocent amongst friends He didnt say when kissing and touching was suppose to end He didnt even limit the kissing and touching to just men Maybe this is something that should have never began She said she loved me, she said she cared She even showed it sometimes, but this was rare She didnt cry, her heart didnt even tear When she found out that my innocence was no longer there I tried everything to get away I tried to run, but only lasted a few days I tried a gun, but it didnt spray now the only thing I can think to do... is pray

There is so much sadness in this poem, Monica, and the exploitation of innocense is touched upon with tenderness. I'm glad that gun "didn't spray." Lost love can really send us tumbling downward, but I'm glad you are finding some comfort in prayer. Love and blessings, Carolyn
