Poetic New Year Readiness

A prayer. for peace and open
communication
To respect others without domination.
To welcome new poets but honor the
older ones,too.

There are extremely good poets here
who we just do not read,
If you see no comments to any poet,or
few to them, leave one,,its an act of
soul, someone said,

For you, I wish much peace and serenity.
Not madness, to be at the top of the
poetry tree.!
Just pure joy in writing, your somg, that
sings of thee!

Some just mad for popularity, to me, is
self-centeredness, not poetry.
Just write a simple poem, expressing your
own soulful picture of humanity!

     Happy New Year 2022
            Panagiota

A "Wonderful" write. I love your line, "Just write a simple poem, expressing your own soulful picture of humanity!" So true. Some days it is hard to keep up here. I want to read/comment more but time sets in. So glad you are doing better. Keep up the great work to great health. Still on my prayer list. Have a blessed day and New Year............

A simple poem is my favorite, especially if it appeals to my soul.

I agree totally, Caren, I get lost in long poems. Some are like....being lost in a dark forest.))) Simple and soulful, I am with you Pangie Thank you

I always try and encourage new poets as I remember what it was like when I first joined. Shame that many don't share that view but we live in hope. Tom

Great idea, "To welcome new poets but honor the older ones, too." I think I am looking more for friendship then writing. But as you see , I don't get the views. Maybe I need to be more floating around the site. You didn't have to remove your poem Opossums. So, strange my little brother next door mention losing a kitten to one the night before. The mom cat was really in a fighting mood. Happy New Year with prayers answered.

With more writers coming aboard, the older ones get ones get passed byit seems. Unless you are writing jokes and hahas all the time or very short poetry I dont get it. Beautiful poems bypassedu for a laugh. I am not here to make friends. I really am here to write poetry. I have few friends here. I cannot type so..i am limited.i am not unfriendly. Just cannot spend 24/7 on here. I am limited in posting and commenting. Reposted the possum one, I sent you an email. Pangie xo

Always a good idea idea to encourage others on the site, especially newcomers. I remember how great it felt to get 20 (!) comments one day on my first twenty poems (from Line Gauthier). Never forget the boost it gave me. Thanks for the timely reminder, Pangie. Here's to a wonderful Wednesday! :) gw

Thanks for that share... any comment was a boost. Twenty? Not for me. Never.a few worked. I am the harshest judge of my poetry. I try to not be clever because, thats not my bag. Nor can I pen comedy or huge jokes. Writing comedy ? For others not me,)) Pangie

Your thoughts are simple and sincere, and easy to follow, Pangie. I look for new posts, comment and encourage; even though few are those who react to the visits, I still try to sow some positivity. ~ I hope you are feeling much better, now. ~ Best regards, my friend. // paul

Thank you Paul. I respect your comments greatly...that glow of positivity shows in your comments))) it is sincere. You pen great poetry and I- admire humility which I have seen in all great men and women that I have known. It is quite rare! As for me...i am walking 300 steps now and today, climbing stairs. Wow..this takes patience! And am grateful for the surgeries and therapists who come to the house. Elena my daughter, is my caregiver plus spends two hours a day with my cat at my house. Plus works from home. Thanks to the poets pulling for me. Keep on sowing seeds)))) Panagiota
