Poetic Feat - Delete Delete

There are so many forms poetic
at which I am sadly pathetic

The Etheree don’t set me free
The Villanelle, this poet’s hell
The Cinquain is a royal pain
I find the Acrostic absurdly caustic
Blank verse a dull non rhyming curse
Haiku like hammering a screw
Italian Sonnets, Shakespeare in a bonnet
The Ode, what a load
A Senryu, let’s laugh at you
A Triolet, I lost that bet

And yet the gauntlet that they throw
Is one that I cannot forego
And where the words all come to meet
My keyboard stroke….delete, delete.

Function (keys) over form every day, I say. Enjoyed this one, John. Thanks, Gershon

The daunting task of poetry form becomes alive in your clever rhyme. I enjoyed reading it especially because I find some of the forms quite a challenge. :) Paulette

Hello John ... I think along the line of your thoughts. A verse either rhymes or it doesn't. I read them all, but mostly have no idea of the genre - thank you John - Lindsay
