Poem About the Rockers

Cutting through the consciousness 
of the U.S.A. 
Children of Chuck Berry and Elvis 
Girls gyrating wildly in the corners of the space
While the odor of beer 
fills the room 
My ears are full of sound 
And I jump up and down 
Glad I came to this place!
The noise drowns my sorrow 
So who cares about tomorrow?

This poem was inspired by Chuck Berry's song "Hail. Hail Rock and Roll"

Kelly Deschler August 2, 2014 at 12:10 AM I am a big fan of classic and modern rock music. I still listen to those greats like Chuck Berry, Elvis, and Buddy Holly. Their music takes me to a much more innocent and fun place in time.... I'm so glad that I chose to read this poem. I really enjoyed it! Great work, Matthew!
