Pluto and Charon
Buoyant ly they dance, orbs of shimmering ice
The gravity is strong deep in space, void of light
But if you never saw them dance, did they ever dance at all?
Yae, they did oh so elegant at the interplanetary ball
‘‘Twas only those two despite the giants all around
Through massive forces pulling
They could not be brought aground
“Just one more tender kiss, my love, before we leave this place
Before we drift apart forever into long forgotten space”
Gravity had pulled them close and briefly there they stood
A kiss they shared, a fond embrace, but neither was prepared
For within that kiss so shortly met
Was pieces of their core
Their gravity and poles aligned, made one forevermore.
Still they dance in perfect time through millennia and age
The stars and all the nebula now
Acting as a stage
The giants, still they lurk
But they still cannot match their gait
So it’s still just the two of them
Staring lovingly at their mate
