Pleasing You
Mystery surrounds the moonlight as it streams
Into the window pane, infiltrating my dreams
Despite the mind I've been blessed with it surely seems
I have devoted myself to some wayward schemes
At times I'm not an adult but no more a child
You would certainly think my oats no longer wild
Even this foolishness can be reconciled
Yes,I'm eager to please but not so easily riled
Blame it on the sunlight breaking in your eyes
Or the sweet, dark taste of your half-truths and lies
Again I'll stop and listen as the bad wolf cries
These are charcoal colored thoughts I realize
So feed me every whim and your intense desire
Can't lower myself further so I will reach higher
My self respect is burning on a funeral pyre
I'll climb out of this pit ,escape the murk and mire
