Please Stay
PLEASE STAY
I’ve grown accustomed to your love;
Don’t leave me now.
I’m sure that we can work it out.
We have to try somehow.
You say I’ve been neglectful
And I admit that it is true.
I’ve been busy building a career
And left no time for you.
So now I’ll make adjustments,
Leave work at five each night
And do whatever’s needed
To get the balance right.
For nothing’s more important
To me than what we share.
So please unpack that suitcase
And tell me you’ll be there.
