Please Just One Story Santa
Please just one story! The bunnies cried as Santa walked by.
He was trying to be sneaky, but they all met his eye.
Okay, just one, he agreed, it’s a very busy night you see.
Pretty soon more woodland creatures were at his knee.
The night before Christmas and all through the woods….
The animals were stirring, as only four legged ones could.
The violets all nestled all snug under the safety of the earth.
The snow coming down to celebrate Lord Jesus’ birth.
When what to our wondering eyes should appear?
But a sleigh led by reindeer, some up in their years.
And I in my long johns, and the wife in her nightie,
Settled down for a snuggle, that was right sweet and tidy.
The creatures smiled and laughed and gave Santa a drink.
He put a finger beside his nose and gave them a pretty wink.
I will give you more details next year, but I have to go!
He left with a hearty good-bye, and his famous merry ho-ho-ho.
